May 2014 Disability Employment Data
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 4.626 million people with disabilities considered working age (ages 16-64) participated in the labor force in May of 2014. This is a decrease from 4.919 million in May of 2013, but a small increase from last month’s figure of 4.55 million. This represents a labor-force participation rate of 33% for men and 27.1% for women with disabilities, compared to 82.1% for men and 70.4% for women without disabilities.
